Horsham Registry Office Autumn Micro Wedding Photography • Akshaya and Max
Akshaya & Max’s Wedding at Horsham Registry Office, in West Sussex was a glorious day!
The autumnal colours were just stunning!
Akshaya and Max got in touch with me last minute to arrange photography for thier micro wedding at Horsham Registry Office. Which turned out to be my last wedding of 2024 and it was just lovely! I’ve shot at Horsham Registry Office many a time, but shooting in the Autumn was something else, it was a little cold, but the colours of the turning leaves along with the Autumn sun just made for the best photos!
Horsham Registry Office is located in the elegant Park House, a Georgian building with plenty of character. The venue’s cozy interiors are perfect for small, intimate ceremonies, and A+M’s Ceremony was held in the Chairman’s Room, the smaller of the two rooms. One of the reasons I love Horsham Registry Office is because of the surrounding courtyard, filled with flowers and trees, which backs on to Horsham Park, which is the perfect place for your after Ceremony photos and couple portraits.
I’ve been shooting micro weddings with shorter coverage since 2020, when during the pandemic you could only have up to 15 guests due to Covid-19 regulations. Since then micro and intimate weddings have become increasingly popular, whether that be due to budget, timing, or just what the couple prefer. It doesn’t matter, because whilst I adore shooting a big wedding, with lots of guests and lots going on, intimate weddings are just as special. A smaller wedding with a handful of your closest of family and friends, means everything is more personal and meaningful. If you are looking for a photographer to capture the beauty and emotion of your intimate micro wedding, then look no further, I’m the gal for you! Check out my wedding packages for more info!
Back to the couple, Akshaya is Indian and Max Polish and one of the lovely things about thier Ceremony was they both said thier vows in the opposite’s language, I of course didn’t know what was being said, but you could tell it was heartfelt. I think it was a lovely touch as one of Max’s guests was his Grandad who didn’t speak or understand English, so it was lovely for Akshaya to make him feel included. Speaking of Max’s Grandad, he was by far the best guest, a very solemn fellow, who stood up straight and barely smiled, I enjoyed photographing him because he had this great presence about him.
After the Ceremony, we headed out to the courtyard to take some formals with the Registry Office building in the background. Then the three of us headed off on a little walk for some couple shots, and I have to say, these guys absolutely smashed it! The autumn sunlight was perfect and as mentioned the surrounding area is perfect for getting couple portraits. A+M had booked a celebratory lunch at Cote (I was invited too!) so we all headed down the road and this is where I captured one of my favourite photos of Max’s Grandad holding Akshaya’s hand, helping her walk (as she had on some killer heels!) as we walked through the town centre.
It really was a beautiful end to 2024!
